Week 18: GPAC Men's Basketball Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following men's basketball players-of-the-week for contests played February 24-March 2, 2025. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-2025 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Offensive – Tristan Smith, Concordia University (Forward)

Tristan Smith of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men's basketball offensive player-of-the-week.  Smith, a senior from Elizabeth, Colorado, led 11th-ranked Concordia to postseason wins over Midland and No. 13 Northwestern. In the matchup with Midland, Smith broke Concordia's single-game scoring record by piling up 48 points on 19-for-26 shooting from the floor and 10-for-12 shooting from the foul line. Smith notched double-doubles in both contests while averaging 34.0 points and 13.0 rebounds on the week.

Defensive – Tristan Smith, Concordia University (Forward)

Tristan Smith of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men's basketball defensive player-of-the-week.  Smith, a senior from Elizabeth, Colorado, dominated on both ends as 11th-ranked Concordia defeated both Midland and No. 13 Northwestern in GPAC tournament action. Smith spent most of the semifinal matchup with Northwestern defending Jesse Van Kalsbeek, who went 4-for-18 from the floor. Smith's 48 points in the win over Midland represented a program record for a single game.
