Week 10: GPAC Baseball Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following baseball player and pitcher-of-the-week for contests played April 7-April 13, 2025. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-2025 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. 

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors

Pitcher – Owen Kelley, Midland University

Owen Kelley of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week. Kelley, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, threw a no-hitter for the Warriors this week as they took three of four games at Dordt. In the series' first game, he went 7 innings with 12 strikeouts and allowed just one walk. This season, he is 4-3 with two complete games and nine starts.

Player – Jake Chronic, Briar Cliff University (Left Fielder)

Briar Cliff infielder Jake Chronic is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports baseball player-of-the-week. Chronic, a senior from Omaha, Nebraska, recorded 12 hits with two home runs, a triple, a double, and recorded seven RBIs in the four-game series against Hastings. Chronic posted a slash line of .923/.933/1.615 on the weekend. In game two of the series, Chronic was a double short of the cycle, going a perfect five-for-five at the plate with two home runs. In game three he went four-for-four at the plate.  He went eleven (11) straight plate appearances with a hit.  The MLB record is hits in 12 straight plate appearances.
