Week 3: Cross Country Runners of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week for September 12-18, 2022. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cross Country Runners-of-the Week
Women – Kylahn Freiberg, Concordia University
Kylahn Freiberg of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Freiberg, a senior from Nampa, Idaho, led Concordia at the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Sept. 17 with a 5k time of 19:05.2, placing her 63rd out of 308 total runners in a field that included NCAA Division I and II competitors. Freiberg placed above all GPAC/NAIA competition and powered the Bulldogs to a third-place team finish out of 19 squads in the "Gold Division."
Men – Camden Sesna, Concordia University
Camden Sesna of Concordia University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Sesna, a senior from Kearney, Nebraska, paced Concordia at the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., on Sept. 17 with an 8k time of 25:22.3. That mark put him in 42nd place overall out of 318 runners and was the top finish among all GPAC/NAIA competitors in the field. Sesna led the Bulldogs to a team placement of sixth out of 21 squads in the "Gold Division" of the meet.
