Week 8: Women's Volleyball Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played October 10-16, 2022. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Attacker – Ady Dwight, Dakota Wesleyan University (Middle)
Ady Dwight of the Dakota Wesleyan University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Dwight, a junior, from Langford, South Dakota, helped the Tigers to another 2-0 week, grabbing the win in five sets on the road against Dakota State, then hitting an astounding .500 with 19 kills in a 3-0 sweep over Mount Marty. Overall, she had 43 kills, with just nine errors on 100 total attacks for a .340 hitting percentage. Dwight leads the nation in total kills on the season with 397. She also added 12 total blocks.
Setter- Kalli Hegerle, University of Jamestown
Kalli Hegerle of the University of Jamestown is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Hegerle, a senior from West Fargo, North Dakota, averaged 5.45 assists per set, dishing out 60 total over three contests. She also added 3.64 kills per set and 2.09 digs per set as No. 2 Jamestown went 3-0. She filled the stat sheet with 28 assists, 19 kills, and 11 digs in a five-set win at No. 13 College of Saint Mary. Hegerle also added eight service aces and seven total blocks on the week.
Defender – Amani Monroe, Hastings College (Middle)
Amani Monroe of Hastings College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Monroe, a senior from Colorado Springs, Colorado, was a menace to opposing teams at the net and this past week. She finished with a total of 17 blocks (2.43/set) but it was her 11 total block performance against Mount Marty (nine block assists and two solo blocks) that helped the Broncos to a conference win.
