Week 6: GPAC Volleyball Honors
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played October 12-18, 2020. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2020-2021 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Attacker – Ady Dwight, Dakota Wesleyan University (Middle)
Ady Dwight of Dakota Wesleyan University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Dwight, a freshman, from Langford, South Dakota, recorded a season-high 21 kills against Northwestern College, to go along with 17 kills against Concordia and 13 kills in a sweep of Presentation College. Along with her 51 kills on the week, Dwight added 7.5 blocks and a pair of digs as the Tigers went 2-1 on the week.
Setter- Lacey Reitz, Northwestern College
Lacey Reitz of Northwestern College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Reitz, a senior from Jackson, Minnesota, played a key role in leading the Raiders to a 4-0 record last week. Reitz piled up 176 assists as she directed an offense that hit .317 in wins against Briar Cliff, Dakota Wesleyan, Doane and Hastings. She averaged 12.6 assists, 2.1 digs and served a team-best six aces.
Defender – Emily Strasser, Northwestern College (Defensive Specialist)
Emily Strasser of Northwestern College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Strasser, a junior, from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, totaled 68 digs, averaging 4.9 per set, in wins against Briar Cliff, Dakota Wesleyan, Doane and Hastings. Strasser had 20 or more digs in two of the four matches, including a season-high 26 in the win over Hastings.
