Field Events – Makenna Walhof, Dordt University
Makenna Walhof from Dordt University is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Walhof, a junior from Sioux Center, Iowa, hit two qualifying marks in her first meet of the outdoor season, the Wildcat Classic. On Friday, Walhof placed third in the hammer with a school-record mark of 55.35m, easily hitting the 'A' standard and is currently ranked No.1 in the NAIA. Walhof followed with a second-place finish on Saturday in the discus with a provisional mark that ranks first in the GPAC and No.5 in the NAIA.
Track Events – Adrianna Rodencal, Concordia University
Adrianna Rodencal of Concordia University is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Rowe, a senior, from Lincoln, Nebraska, kicked off her outdoor season by running two NAIA automatic national qualifying times in hurdles events while also helping the 4x100 relay to a B standard at the Central Nebraska Challenge. Rodencal currently sports national rankings of first in the 100 hurdles (13.55) and second in the 400 hurdles (59.32). The 4x1 ranks 10th nationally. Rodencal is coming off a 60-meter hurdles national title this past indoor season.
