Week 7: GPAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week

Field Events – Makenna Starkey, Concordia University
Makenna Starkey from Concordia University is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Starkey, a freshman from Minden, Nebraska, equaled a Concordia school record by clearing 5' 7" while winning the high jump at the Concordia Invite. With that performance, Starkey automatically qualified for the national meet and ranks first in the GPAC and fourth in the NAIA in the event. Starkey also is a member of the Bulldog volleyball team.
Track Events – Tania Gleason, Doane University
Tania Gleason of Doane University is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Gleason, a senior, from Bennington, Nebraska, won the 60m and 200m dashes with NAIA "A" qualifying marks and personal best marks at the Concordia Invite. Her time in the 200m breaks her own school record and with a track conversion time (24.11), she leads the NAIA. Gleason's 60m time is the eighth-fastest time in the NAIA this season.
