Week 17: GPAC Women's Basketball Players of the Week

Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-2025 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Basketball Players-of-the-Week
Offensive – Macy Sievers, Dordt University (Guard)
Macy Sievers of Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women's basketball offensive player-of-the-week. Sievers, a junior from Storm Lake, Iowa, scored career high 28 points in a win against Morningside and was an assist short of a triple-double and also had five steals. Followed that performance with 24 points, 7 rebounds and five assists in a road, overtime loss to #16 Dakota Wesleyan. Converted 64 percent of her three-point shots this week while converting 9-14 shots.
Defensive – Mariyah Avila, Hastings College (Guard)
Mariyah Avila of Hastings College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women's basketball defensive player-of-the-week. Avila, a junior from Scottsbluff, Nebraska, dominated both games defensively to set a tone in the road wins. At Midland, she had three steals along with 17 points in just 14 minutes, then had 4 steals in 23 minutes to go with 19 points at Doane. For the week she averaged 18 points, 3.5 steals, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists in 18.5 minutes.
