Week 2: GPAC Softball Players of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the softball player and pitcher-of-the-week for contests played February 9-15, 2026. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2025-2026 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program. 

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Softball Weekly Honors

Player – Alexis Shepard, Midland University (Outfield)

Alexis Shepard of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports softball player-of-the-week.  Shepard, a sophomore from Waverly, Nebraska, had a .583 average this week with three doubles, four runs batted in, two stolen bases, and a walk. She had an on-base percentage of .643 at the plate as Midland went 3-1 in Davenport, Iowa.

Pitcher – Abigail Tweedy, Dordt University

Abigail Tweedy of Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week.  Tweedy, a freshman from Piedmont, South Dakota, tossed a complete game shutout in a win over Bismarck State. She gave up just one hit, striking out six batters in the victory.
