Day One Update - 2025 GPAC Softball Tournament

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The two brackets for the 2025 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Softball Tournaments got underway on Wednesday, April 30, in Orange City, Iowa, and Fremont, Nebraska.

Four games were completed in the Northwestern pod, with just one game completed at the Midland bracket.  Rain forced the suspension of the pod in Fremont, Nebraska, and the pod will be extended to Friday.

Both brackets will resume on Thursday, with the Northwestern pod in game five and the Midland pod resuming game two between Morningside and Dordt.

In Orange City, eight seed Doane went 2-0 on the day, with Dakota Wesleyan and Northwestern each going 1-1.  Concordia was eliminated with an 0-2 record.  Midland sits at 1-0 in their bracket, with Hastings at 0-1.

Northwestern has secured the league's first berth to the NAIA Opening Round, while the GPAC Tournament Champion will receive the second berth.  If the Red Raiders win the GPAC Tournament then the tournament runner-up will receive the second GPAC berth to the NAIA Opening Round.  The two brackets will be double elimination, with the final the best two of three.  GPAC tie-breakers were used in the seeding process.
