Championship Set For Men's Volleyball
(Sioux City, Iowa) – Third seed Ottawa and top seed Jamestown advanced to the championship of the 2022 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men's Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, April 2. Ottawa defeated second seed Dordt and Jamestown cruised past four seed Morningside in the semifinals.
Ottawa needed five sets to take down the Defenders after a tight match. The Braves battled back after Dordt went up 2-0 after a couple close sets, emerging victorious. Final scores were 25-27, 23-25, 25-15,25-18,15-10.
The Jimmies of Jamestown made quick work of the Mustangs in their semifinal match, winning in straight sets by scores of 25-21, 25-14, 25-14.
The GPAC Tournament Championship is Saturday, April 2, at the Newman Arena in Jamestown, North Dakota at 7 pm.
The Jimmies won the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record. Ottawa garnered the three seed and was 7-3 in league play.
The GPAC Men's Volleyball Tournament winner receives an automatic berth to the NAIA Men's Volleyball National Championship in West Des Moines, Iowa, April 12-16 at Mid-American Energy Company RecPlex.
