Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week
Field Events – Jonathan Edberg, Midland University
Jonathan Edberg from Midland University is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Edberg, a freshman from Stockholm, Sweden, won the high jump and placed fourth in the triple jump in his first collegiate outdoor meet. He cleared 1.91m in the high jump and reached 12.68m in the triple jump at the Central Methodist Open.
Track Events – Jonny Jurchen, Concordia University
Jonny Jurchen of Concordia University is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Jurchen, a sophomore from Seward, Nebraska, immediately secured a spot at the NAIA Outdoor Championships by clocking an automatic national qualifying time in the 5,000-meter race walk at the Grand View Viking Relays. Jurchen won the event in a personal best time of 22:28.39. He currently ranks No. 1 in the NAIA in the event. Jurchen is coming off an All-America claim in the indoor race walk.
