Field Events – Josiah Edwards, Concordia University
Josiah Edwards from Concordia University is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Edwards, a junior from Elk Grove, California, emerged as the weight throw champion at the Concordia Early Bird. His toss of 59' 2 ¼" was best among a field of 43 and represents an NAIA B-qualifying standard. Edwards currently ranks first in the GPAC and second nationally in the weight throw.
Track Events – Kaiden Merryman, Hastings College
Kaiden Merryman of Hastings College is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Merryman, a junior, from Lodi, California, won the 60m final at the UNK Pre-Holiday Classic with a NAIA B-qualifying standard time of 6.77 seconds. He also won his qualifying race with a time of 6.84 seconds.
