Women's Tennis – Maria Purizaca, Doane University
Maria Purizaca of Doane University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Purizaca, a sophomore from Lima, Peru, posted a number one singles record of 2-0 on the week, while going 1-1 at number one doubles for the Tigers. She posted wins in singles play against College of Saint Mary and Northwestern, while her doubles win came against Northwestern. The Doane women are second in the conference standings.
Men's Tennis – Mark Trenkle, Morningside University
Mark Trenkle of Morningside University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Trenkle, a senior from Lahr, Germany, posted a 4-0 week with number one singles wins over Mount Marty, Central, Luther and Coe. He also went 3-1 in doubles play against the same four teams. The Morningside men clinched the GPAC regular season title and number one seed in the conference tournament.
