Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Player – Cade Marquardt, Briar Cliff University (Catcher)
Briar Cliff University catcher Cade Marquardt is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports baseball player-of-the-week. Marquardt, a senior from Litchfield, Minnesota, went 12-for-17 at the plate last week with four doubles, a triple, two home runs, and eight RBIs. He also drew a walk. Marquardt posted a batting average of .706, OBP of .722, and slugging percentage of 1.412. In game four of the series against Mount Marty, Marquardt went five-for-five with two home runs, two doubles, and five RBIs.
Pitcher – Nicolas Yard, Doane University
Nicolas Yard of Doane University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week. Yard, a senior from Erie, Colorado, threw 8.0-plus innings in Doane's 6-2 win over Concordia on Friday. He struck out eight batters and limited the Bulldogs to six hits, allowing one run (scored with 2 outs in the 9th).
