Week 5: GPAC Baseball Players of the Week

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Player – Nico Sall, Briar Cliff University (Utility)
Briar Cliff University utility player Nico Sall is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports baseball player-of-the-week. Sall, a senior from Omaha, Nebraska, recorded seven hits with a .700 batting average, .800 on base percentage, and a 1.500 slugging percentage in the four-game series against Bismarck State. Sall tallied two home runs, two doubles, eight RBIs, and a stolen base. In game two of the series, Sall went three-for-four at the plate and hit two home runs and recorded three RBIs.
Pitcher – Kade Yasui, Morningside University
Kade Yasui of Morningside University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week. Yasui, a senior from Mililani, Hawaii, picked up a 4.1 inning win in relief for Morningside this week, striking out seven for an average of 14.54 strikeouts per nine innings. The senior gave up just one walk in his no-hit outing, generating a WHIP of .23, as he shut down a Cornerstone offense that had posted six runs in the first 2.2 innings. He was also perfect defensively, with a putout and an assist in two total chances on the mound.
