Day Three Update - 2025 GPAC Baseball Tournament

(Sioux City, Iowa) –Play continued on Friday in the 2025 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Baseball Tournaments. The Morningside Pod, co-hosted by Mount Marty, in Yankton, South Dakota, was completed and the Concordia Pod in Seward, Nebraska, was postponed to Saturday because of the weather. 

In Seward, at the Concordia Pod, no games were played on Friday because of the weather.  Game six will start at 1pm on Saturday between Briar Cliff and Concordia.  Game seven, if needed, will be at 4pm.  Briar Cliff is 2-0 in the pod, with Concordia at 2-1. 

In Yankton, at the Morningside Pod co-hosted by Mount Marty, the host Lancers won the pod with an 8-6 win over Morningside in game six.  Mount Marty went 3-0 to win the bracket and advance to Monday's GPAC Baseball Championship Game against the Concordia Pod Winner. 

Concordia has secured the league's first berth to the NAIA Opening Round, while the GPAC Tournament Champion will receive the second berth.  If Concordia wins the GPAC Tournament, then Morningside (as number two seed) will receive the second GPAC berth to the NAIA Opening Round. 

All games in the GPAC Tournament are nine innings and the two brackets will be double elimination.  The overall GPAC Baseball Championship Game is a winner take all contest (9 innings) regardless of prior records in bracket play.  GPAC tie-breakers were used in the seeding process.
