 Midland and Concordia Post Road Wins in Week 0! Two Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) football teams officially opened the 2010 season on Saturday with non-conference action. Concordia posted a 13-7 win at Peru State and Midland won a Saturday night contest at Dakota State 38-7.
The rest of the GPAC teams will hit the turf next Saturday with five GPAC games scheduled. Midland Lutheran will have the week one bye. In week one of GPAC football Concordia will host Nebraska Wesleyan, Hastings will play at Briar Cliff, Doane at Morningside, Dakota Wesleyan at Dordt, and the rivalry matchup of Sioux Falls at Northwestern.

 NAIA Volleyball Powers to Decend on Orange City for Red Raider Classic Northwestern College has hosted one of the premier NAIA volleyball tournaments since the very first tourney in 1995. In its 16thyear of existence, the 2010 20-team tournament field features seven of the 24 teams that qualified for the 2009 NAIA volleyball championship site, including three teams, Northwestern, Lee (Tenn.) and Taylor (Ind.), that advanced out of pool play and into the 10-team single elimination tournament. The other four teams that qualified for national tournament play are Doane, Bellevue, Biola and Morningside.

 2010 GPAC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll The Hastings men, after posting a 16-4-3 record in 2009, has been selected by the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) men's soccer coaches' as the favorite for the 2010 GPAC men's soccer season.
The Bronco men, who won the GPAC last season with a 10-1-1 record, totaled 121 points and garnered 11 first place votes in the poll. Hastings advanced to the NAIA National Tournament second round last year. Sioux Falls was picked second with 103 votes and the final first place vote. Midland Lutheran, who also advanced to the NAIA National Soccer Tournament last year, was picked fifth with 87 points.
