For the first time since 2004 three GPAC teams are perparing themselves for the NAIA Football Championship Series.  Top ranked Sioux Falls (11-0), seventh ranked Morningside (9-1), and 13th ranked Hastings (9-2) are ready to take to the field as part of the 16 team field.  B. The 2009 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Volleyball All-Conference Team has been selected. Randa Hulstein from Northwestern was the selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Player-of-the-Year. Kyle Van Den Bosch from Northwestern was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Coach-of-the-Year. Northwestern was the regular season champion for 2009 with a 16-0 league record. The GPAC All-Conference teams were selected by the league coaches.

The 2009 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Football All-Conference Team has been selected after a vote of the league coaches on Sunday, November 15, at Dana College in Blair, Nebraska.

Lorenzo Brown from Sioux Falls has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Offensive Player-of-the-Year, while Trevor Holleman from Sioux Falls was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Defensive Player-of-the-Year. Kalen De Boer from Sioux Falls was named the Hauff Mid-America/GPAC Coach-of-the-Year. Sioux Falls was the regular season conference champion for 2009. Sioux Falls (11-0), Morningside (9-1), and Hastings (9-2) have qualified for the NAIA Football Championship Series.

The 2009 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) fall sports season is complete and Hastings, with 59.5 points, leads the GPAC All-Sports Trophy standings with six of the league's 19 sports completed. The Broncos are the defending GPAC All-Sports Trophy Champion. Fall GPAC Championships went to Nebraska Wesleyan (Women's Cross Country), Concordia (Men's Cross Country), Sioux Falls (Football), Hastings (Men's Soccer), Dakota Wesleyan (Women's Soccer), and Northwestern (Volleyball).
