After the head football coaching position opened up on Dec. 8, Dakota Wesleyan University Athletic Director Curt Hart received dozens of applications from coaches at various levels around the country without ever opening the position to the public.
Dordt College has announced Greg Youngblood as its new head football coach. Youngblood comes to Dordt College after holding assistant coaching positions at Taylor University (Indiana) and Waldorf College (Iowa) in 2005 and 2006 and the head coaching position at Waldorf College from 2007 to 2011.
Midland University has announced Josh J. Gehring as the institution's 36th head football coach. Gehring, most recently at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, will look to mold a talented Warrior squad into a program of consistent national relevance.
"Coach Gehring is the ideal mix of a football coach and a leader of young men," said Dr. Ben Sasse, President of Midland University. "His success as an offensive coordinator speaks for itself but his attention to detail and ability to impact the lives of football players really caught our eye."
