Oklahoma Christian captured its first-ever team title and Wayland Baptist's (Texas) Kennedy Kithuka defended his individual championship at the 2011 NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships held Saturday at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. The Dordt men placed 24th in their first trip to Nationals since 1980.
Honors for the 2011 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Cross Country season have been handed out by the conference.

Morningside's Taylor Chapman grimaced as he labored around the bend, halfway through his first cross country race in two years.
His mom, Peggy Bates, held her breath.
"He was clenching, hunched over to one side and I was thinking it was his hip," she said.
Turned out it was just a sideache.
