The 2013 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Baseball All-Conference team has been announced after a vote of league coaches. This years GPAC All-Conference Team consists 17 first-team members and 18 second-team members, and an honorable mention list. Michael Lukkason from Dakota Wesleyan was selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Player-of-the-Year and Tyler Stuerman from Northwestern was selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Pitcher-of-the-Year.
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially announced the seeds and site selections for the 2013 NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round. Each of the nine locations will feature a five-team double-elimination tournament May 9 – 13.
Top seeded Northwestern made it a clean sweep for the season by winning the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Baseball Tournament Championship on Saturday afternoon to go along with their regular season crown this spring. The 2013 GPAC Baseball Tourmament was played in Hastings, Nebraska, at Duncan and Smith Fields and was hosted by Hastings College.
