The NAIA has named Nick Reed from Doane as the male winner of the Emil S. Liston award for 2013.  Liston, the founder of the National Association of Intercollegiate Basketball (NAIB), was the first executive secretary of the NAIA and a founder of the NAIA's basketball championship. Both the female and male winners this year were nominated by the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC).  Samantha Kleinsasser from Northwestern was named the female recipient (see separate press release).

Doane junior Nick Reed has been selected from the Great Plain's Athletic Conference (GPAC) for the NAIA's Male Emil S. Liston Award.  Each NAIA conference is able to nominate one student-athlete for this annual award.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2012 - 13 Division II Men's Basketball All-America teams. Ra'Shad James of Northwood (Fla.) was named the NABC-NAIA National Player of the Year. The All-America Teams are selected by the NAIA All-America committee.  Northwestern's Ben Miller and Midland's James Parrott were selected for the first team.
