Northwestern junior Jacqueline Niewenhuis has been selected from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) for the NAIA's Female A.O. Duer Award. Each NAIA conference is able to nominate one student-athlete for this annual award.

Morningside College's women's cross country team was announced as the winner of the 2012 Buffalo Funds Five Star Champions of Character Team Award at Friday's 2012 Men's and Women's Cross Country Awards Banquet in Vancouver, Wash., leading up to Saturday's NAIA Men's and Women's Cross Country National Championships to be held at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.
