Men's Indoor Track Athlete of The Week
Edwin Ronoh
Doane College
Doane runner Edwin Ronoh is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Track Athlete of the Week. Ronoh, a senior from Kericho, Kenya, won gold in the 600 meters and broke a Concordia Field House record at the Concordia Classic with a time of 1:20.04. His time bested his previous NAIA qualifying mark and ranks third in the NAIA this week. Ronoh also helped Doane to a third place finish in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:22.90.

Women's Indoor Field Athlete of The Week

Briar Cliff University
Briar Cliff thrower Tara Cockerill is the week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Field Athlete of the week. Cockerill, a junior from Spalding, Nebraska, won the shot put at the Dennis Young Classic with a throw of 45-1.50. That mark gave her a new personal best, new indoor school record, and a new meet record. She is currently ranked second in the GPAC and fourth in the NAIA with her throw from the weekend.

Women's Indoor Track Athlete of The Week
Brianna Hobbs
Northwestern College
Northwestern runner Brianna Hobbs and other members of the 4x800m relay team are this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Track Athletes of the Week. Hobbs, a sophomore from Kingsley, Iowa, recorded two first place finishes at the Dennis Young Classic last weekend. She won the 800 meters and met the NAIA provisional mark with a time of 2:19.4. That time is the third best in the GPAC and 11th fastest in the NAIA. Hobbs, and her 4x800m relay teammates (Teresa Kerkvliet, Sara Edwardson, and Dawn Gildersleeve), won that relay with a time of 9:33.7. The time is the best the GPAC and ranks third in the NAIA this season. Hobbs also owns the seventh fastest time in the NAIA in the 600 meters.

Dordt College
Dordt guard Cliff Warner is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Player-of-the-Week. Warner, a junior from Altoona, Iowa, averaged 22 points, four rebounds, and four assists per game as 6th ranked Dordt won a pair of games on the week. For the week he was 13-19 from the floor (68%) and made 8-11 three pointers (73%). He also went 10-11 at the foul line as the Defenders are now 21-3 overall and lead the GPAC at 12-3.

Kami Kuhlmann
Northwestern College
Northwestern guard Kami Kuhlmann is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Player-of-the-Week. Kuhlmann, a senior from Charter Oak, Iowa, averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and five assists per game as the Red Raiders posted two wins over ranked opponents on the week (#2 Briar Cliff and #18 Hastings). For the week she made 5-8 three pointers (63%) and was 6-7 at the foul line. Ninth ranked Northwestern opens the week at 17-5 overall and 11-3 in the GPAC.

Three amazing performances are all National leading marks at this point in the season...

Hastings thrower Cody Weber is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Field Athlete of the Week. Weber, a senior from Hastings, Nebraska, has the NAIA's best mark in the shot put after winning the Concordia Classic with a throw of 57 feet 2 inches. He also had a second place performance in the weight throw, behind last week's NAIA Field Athlete of the Week Gabe Wickham (his teammate). His mark of 62-5.25 inches is currently is second best in the NAIA to Wickham.

Nebraska Wesleyan jumper Tommie Bardsley is the week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Field Athlete of the Week. Bardsley, a sophomore from Beatrice, Nebraska, won the high jump at the Concordia Classic with a career best leap of 6-10.75. His height is the best in NCAA III this season and is tied for the top in the GPAC. Bardsley moved up to 4th on the NWU all-time indoor chart for men's high jump.

Northwestern jumper Matt Huseman is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Field Athlete of the Week. Huseman, a junior from Sac City, Iowa, set a school record and won the high jump at the Dennis Young Classic with a leap of 6-10.75. His height was two full inches higher than the second place finisher and is the top mark in the NAIA this season.

Jahsua Marsh
Midland University
Midland wrestler Jahsua Marsh is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Wrestler of the Week. Marsh, a junior from Brentwood, New York, went 5-0 over the weekend, going 4-0 at the Grand View Open and winning the 197 pound division. Marsh earned victories over two NCAA Division I wrestlers. He had an 8-4 decision to Cody Sorenson of North Dakota State and a 12-9 decision to Thomas Lira of the University of Iowa, on his way to winning his weigh class. He also posted a win over Morningside's Andrew Anthofer 13-7 in a GPAC dual last Friday night.

B.J. Lawrence of Doane (Neb.) has been named the NAIA National Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week and Gabe Wickham of Hastings (Neb.) has been tabbed as the NAIA National Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Lawrence and Wickham were selected based on their performances from Jan. 16 – 22. This week's announcement marks the third-consecutive week that the Great Plains Athletic Conference has swept men's honors.

Doane with 96 points and eight first place votes is the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) baseball coaches' choice to win the 2012 league title.  The Tigers, tri-champions of the GPAC regular season last spring, posted a 37-19 record in 2011 (16-6 in the GPAC).  Doane was regular season champion with Hastings and Northwestern (all 16-6).  Northwestern and Hastings were picked two-three in the 2012 early season poll, with the Red Raiders garnering the final three first place votes.
