Men's Indoor Track Athlete of The Week
Tanner Dewey
Nebraska Wesleyan University
Nebraska Wesleyan’s Dewey is the track athlete-of-the-week. Dewey, a sophomore from Lincoln, Nebraska, won the 600 meters at the Prairie Wolf Invitational. His time of 1:20.69 was almost two seconds better than the nearest competitor and now leads the GPAC. It was also the 3rd fastest time in NWU track history.

Concordia University
Concordia wrestler Kodie Cole is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Wrestler-of-the-Week. Cole, a sophomore from Palmdale, California, helped Concordia snap No. 19 Morningside's run of 31-straight GPAC dual wins by pinning Alex Schmitz (8-8) in the 133-pound match. The Bulldogs defeated the Mustangs, 29-12, in Sioux City. Cole, who has three pins on the season, qualified for last season's national championships at 133. Concordia is 4-0 in conference duals (tied with Briar Cliff in the loss column).

Jennifer Maag
Hastings College
Hastings’ Jennifer Maag is the field athlete-of-the-week. Maag, a senior from Scottsbluff, Nebraska, won the shot put with a throw of 14.49m (47' 6.5") at the Prairie Wolf Invitational on Friday at The University of Nebraka's Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln. Her throw is currently ranked No. 1 in the GPAC and No. 2 in the NAIA in the shot put.

Men's Basketball - Player of the Week
Trey Bardsley
Nebraska Wesleyan University
Nebraska Wesleyan guard Trey Bardsley is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week. Bardsley, a junior from Beatrice, Nebraska, scored a career-high 48 points in the Prairie Wolves win over Northwestern. The 48 points was the second-highest scoring output ever for a NWU player. Bardsley was 7-of-13 from 3-point range, 13-of-14 at the free throw line and 14-of-23 overall. He also had five steals, four assists and four rebounds to give NWU their first win over Northwestern in Lincoln since the 1999-2000 season. His point total is the third highest in NAIA II this season. He leads the GPAC in scoring at 22.7 points per game.

Zach Lurz
Concordia University
Concordia’s Zach Lurz is the field athlete-of-the-week. Lurz, a sophomore from Torrington, Wyoming, won the shot put competition at the Prairie Wolf Invite with an automatic national qualifying toss of 53' 7.5." He also placed fourth in the weight throw with his mark of 55' 6.25." Lurz ranks second nationally (first among GPAC competitors) in the shot put and fourth in the weight throw.

Women's Indoor Track Athlete of The Week
Neeia Cooperwood
Morningside College
Morningside’s Neeia Cooperwood is the track athlete-of-the-week. Cooperwood, a senior from Omaha, Nebraska, won four events to lead Morningside to a second place finish behind NCAA Division II Truman State at the Central Dutch Athletics Classic. Her time of 25.42 in the 200-meters is the second fastest in the NAIA so far this season. She also won the 55-meters (7.25), 400-meters (59.30) and the long jump.

Women's Basketball - Player of the Week
Bailey Morris
Concordia University
Concordia guard Bailey Morris is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week. Morris, a senior from Clay Center, Nebraska, posted her 32nd career 20-plus point performance in leading Concordia to an 82-75 win over No. 17 Hastings. She added eight rebounds and five assists while making 10 of 12 shots from the field. With 1,776 career points, Morris needs 25 to break the program's career scoring record of 1,800 points by Sarah Harrison. The Bulldogs have defeated eight ranked opponents are in the midst of a 15-game winning streak.

(Mitchell, S.D.) - Every college student takes on countless assignments while in school, but few have the potential to create a movement for change on a topic that hits home directly or indirectly for many. 

Five Dakota Wesleyan University students, four athletes and one athletic training major, took the opportunity presented by an assignment to do something bigger. In the fall of 2014, Professor Alisha Vincent tasked the students in her social justice class to select a cause that they showed interest in and wanted to advocate for.
