![]() Jiskoot Honored by the NAIA The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has named Michael Jiskoot of Northwestern (Iowa) College and Whitni Tucker of Shorter (Ga.) College the 2009 recipients of the prestigious Emil S. Liston Award. The award presented annually by Daktronics recognizes a male and female junior basketball player based on scholarship, character and playing ability. ![]() Holleman and Hoagland Honored by the NAIA The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced that Trevor Holleman of the University of Sioux Falls (S.D.) and Dani Hoagland of Concordia (Neb.) University are the 2009 recipients of the prestigious A.O. Duer Award on Friday. The award is presented annually to a junior male and female student-athlete in any sport who has excelled in character, playing ability and scholarship. Since 1967, the A.O. Duer Award has been presented in honor of the late former NAIA executive director Al Duer who was responsible for the NAIA's role as the first collegiate organization to be fully integrated.

![]() 74 Bulldogs Earn NAIA Scholar-Athlete Award in 2008-09 Concordia University, Nebraska had the highest number of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics scholar-athletes in the nation for the 2008-09 academic year.Seventy-four Bulldogs earned the NAIA scholar-athlete status, 16 more than second place University of St. Francis, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Sioux City is Host to the NAIA Volleyball and DII Women's Basketball Championships The Sioux City Sports Authority and the Sioux City Convention Center/Visitors' Bureau hosted their first ever NAIA Sponsorship Thank You Barbeque today (June 25). The event was held at the Anderson Dance Pavilion on the Sioux City Riverfront. The event was to thank all the sponsors for the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship and NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Championship. More than 100 people attended the event. A barbeque pork lunch was served with ice cream for desert. |
