Eighth Seed Dana Wins NAIA Region III Ttile
Eighth seed Dana won all four of their games and claimed the 2008 NAIA Region III Softball Championship in Sioux City, Iowa. The 8-team double elimination tournament was played at the SYA Softball Complex. Viking pitcher Cassie Lager was named the NAIA Region III MVP.

Red Raiders Still in the Mix in North Dakota!
Day three is complete at the 2008 NAIA Region III Baseball Tournament in Mayville, North Dakota. The 6-team double-elimination tournament is being played at Memorial Field at Mayville State University.  In game one on Friday Mayville State eliminated Dickinson State 12-6.  Northwestern eliminated Briar Cliff 6-3 in game two and in the final game Jamestown knocked out Mayville State 16-3.  Jamestown is the lone undefeated at 3-0, while Northwestern is 2-1.  The Red Raiders and Jimmies will play at 1:00 PM on Saturday.  Northwestern would need to defeat Jamestown twice to win the title.

Honors for the 2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Outdoor Men's Track and Field Season have been announced.

Doane's Paulvince Obuon was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete-of-the-Year. Obuon scored 22.5 points in the GPAC Championships for the Tigers.

Dordt's Jen Kempers was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete-of-the-Year. Kempers scored 28 points in the GPAC Championships for the Lady Defenders.
