Doane Men Snap NWU 19 Year Win Streak, Tiger Women Claim Tenth Straight Crown On what ended up being a beautiful day for track and field the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships were completed in Sioux City, Iowa. Morningisde College and Elwood Olsen Stadium were the site for this year's event.
On the women's side Doane scored 208 points and won their tenth straight league title, while on the men's side Doane ended a 19 year run of Nebraska Wesleyan by claiming first with 212 points. Nebraska Wesleyan's women were second with 172 and their men claimed runner-up honors with 178. Concordia was third in both the women's and men's competition.
Individually Dordt's Jen Kempers was named the GPAC Female Athlete-of-the-Meet after scoring 28 points on the day. Doane's Paulvince Obuon was the GPAC Male Athlete-of-the-Year with 22.5 points scored in the meet. ![]() Dordt's Jen Kempers

New records were set in the women's 1500 with Olivia Johnson from Northwestern clocking a 4:37.87. Jared Schuurmans from Doane broke the men's discus record with a throw of 176-03 and the shot put record with a toss of 55-10.
