Morningside College, with an 11-3 five inning win over Doane, won the 2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Softball Tournament in Hastings, Nebraska, today.  The Championship was moved to today because of the cold tempuratures, wind, and a rain/snow mix late on Friday afternoon.

On Friday in the winner's bracket final Morningside defeated Northwestern 4-1.  Doane eliminated Concordia 11-8 in ten innings and then eliminated Northwestern 3-2 in the loser's bracket final.  

The tournament was played according to an eight team double-elimination bracket.
