GPAC Weekly Softball Honors

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following softball player and pitcher-of-the-week for April 21 –April 27, 2008. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2007-2008 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Softball Weekly Honors
Pitcher – Lexy Determan, Northwestern
Northwestern pitcher Lexy Determan is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week. Determan, a freshman from Terril, Iowa, repeats this week after going 5-0 on the mound with a .58 ERA and one save. Northwestern went 6-0 and improved to 17-7 entering the week. She set the Northwestern school record for strikeouts in a season.

Player- Paige Brune, Dana
Dana catcher Paige Brune is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Softball Player-of-the-Week. Brune, a junior from Dodge, Nebraska, hit .400 on the week with 55 put-outs and seven assists. For the week she only committed one error behind the plate. In eight games she had 12 RBI's and eight runs scored. For the week the Vikings went 5-3 and began the week with a 19-16 record.
