The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following baseball player and pitcher-of-the-week for April 14 –April 20, 2008. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2007-2008 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Pitcher – Chris Baker, Dakota Wesleyan
Dakota Wesleyan pitcher Chris Baker is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week. Baker, a senior from Milwaukie, Oregon, went 2-0 on the week as he picked up wins against Hastings and Briar Cliff. For the week he struck out 16 with an ERA of 1.38. He allowed seven hits over 13 innings of work with five walks. Dakota Wesleyan began the week at 17-18.

Player – Brett Hoch, Morningside
Morningside left fielder Brett Hoch is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Player-of-the-Week. Hoch, a sophomore from South Sioux City, Nebraska, hit .480 on the week with a slugging percentage of 1.000. At the plate he was 12-25, scored 14 runs, hit four home runs, and totaled 13 RBI's. On the base paths he stole three bases in three attempts. Morningside began the week at 22-13.
