The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following baseball player and pitcher-of-the-week for April 7 –April 13, 2008. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2007-2008 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Pitcher – Mihai Burlea, Northwestern
Northwestern pitcher Mihai Burlea is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week. Burlea, a senior from Botosani, Romania, posted a 1-0 shutout win against Dakota Wesleyan. In the game he struck out two and walked just one while allowing two hits. For his career he is now 10-0 in GPAC starts. Through the end of last week Northwestern was 17-9 on the season.

Player- Dean Hansen, Mount Marty
Mount Marty right fielder Dean Hansen is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Player-of-the-Week. Hansen, a junior from Spearfish, South Dakota, hit .545 on the week with a slugging percentage of .636. At the plate he was 6-11 with four runs, four runs scored and one double. The Lancers posted a 2-1 record on the week and are 14-18 on the season (through Sunday play).
