The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following baseball player and pitcher-of-the-week for March 31 –April 6, 2008. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2007-2008 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
 
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Pitcher – Dexter Spitsnogle, Doane
 
Doane pitcher Dexter Spitsnogle is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week. Spitsnogle, a freshman from Odell, Nebraska, went 2-0 on the week with wins over Air Force and Midland Lutheran. In the win against Air Force he pitched four innings with no earned runs and two strike outs. On Sunday he came back with a complete game win against Midland Lutheran in which he struck out five and allowed three earned runs. His ERA on the week was 2.45 as the Tigers went 3-3. Doane is now 14-19 on the season under first year head coach Jeremy Jorgenson.

Player- John Rust, Nebraska Wesleyan
  Nebraska Wesleyan designated hitter John Rust is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Player-of-the-Week. Rust, a sophomore from Lincoln, Nebraska, hit four home runs and had 12 RBI's on the week as the Prairie Wolves went 5-1. In a win over Hastings he was 3-4 with two homeruns and five RBI's. He has hit a homerun in three straight games and now a hitting streak of ten straight games. For the week his slugging percentage was 1.095 and his batting average was .476. NWU is now 13-12 on the season.
