The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following softball player and pitcher-of-the-week for March 31 –April 6, 2008. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2007-2008 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
 
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Softball Weekly Honors
Pitcher – Kelly Baumert, Morningside
  Morningside pitcher Kelly Baumert is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week. Baumert, a sophomore from Omaha, Nebraska, went 4-0 on the week with an ERA of 0.52 for the Mustangs. She has not allowed an earned run her last three games and has allowed two earned runs or less in her last eight outings. For the week she struck out 28 batters while working 27 innings on the mound. She posted wins against Dana, Dakota Wesleyan, Dakota State, and Bellevue. The 25th ranked Mustangs are now 18-5 on the season.

Player- Klancy Nixon, Nebraska Wesleyan
  Nebraska Wesleyan shortstop Klancy Nixon is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Softball Player-of-the-Week. Nixon, a senior from Norfolk, Nebraska, was named the MVP of the Grinnell College Tournament after leading the Prairie Wolves to a 3-1 record and the tournament title. In the tourney she was 7-14 with two homeruns, a triple, and five RBI's. For the week she was 13-29 at the plate with seven RBI's as NWU went 6-2. She also stole four bases in five attempts. Nebraska Wesleyan is now 13-9 on the season. Prairie Wolves Head Coach Lance Kingery also became NWU's all-time wins leader in softball last week when he won career game number 127 with the teams sweep of Buena Vista on Sunday.
