The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following baseball player and pitcher-of-the-week for March 17 -March 23, 2008. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2007-2008 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
 
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Pitcher – Joe Grady, Northwestern
 
Northwestern pitcher Joe Grady is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week. Grady, a senior from Omaha, Nebraska, posted a win and picked up a save as the Red Raiders went 4-1. The right hander struck out ten in a 7-5 extra inning win at Concordia. Grady pitched the complete game (nine innings) against the Bulldogs for the win. He also pitched an inning of relief and posted a save in an 11-10 non-conference win against Morningside. For the week he had an ERA of 1.80. Northwestern is 10-7 and 3-1 in the GPAC.

Player- Tim Jacoby, Midland Lutheran
  Midland Lutheran second baseman Tim Jacoby is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Baseball Player-of-the-Week. Jacoby, a senior from Omaha, Nebraska, hit .565 on the week as the Warriors went 7-0 including two conference sweeps (Sioux Falls and Dakota Wesleyan). His slugging percentage was .783 as he went 13-23 at the plate with eight runs scored. For the week he totaled ten RBI’s and five doubles. Midland Lutheran is now 11-8 overall and 4-0 in the GPAC.
