The semifinal pairings are set in the 2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men’s Basketball Tournament. On Thursday in quarterfinal action top-seeded Morningside defeated #9 Dana 77-56, while #5 Briar Cliff defeated #4 Dordt 79-70 on the top half of the bracket. On the bottom half of the bracket #2 seed Northwestern defeated #7 Sioux Falls 91-63, while #3 Dakota Wesleyan won at home over #6 Hastings 98-79.
On Saturday afternoon #1 seed Morningside will host #5 Briar Cliff and #2 Northwestern will host #3 Dakota Wesleyan. Both games will tip-off at 4:00 PM.
GPAC Championship Tuesday, sponsored by Rawlings, will be on Tuesday, March 4. The GPAC Postseason Champion garners an automatic berth to the NAIA National Basketball Tournament (the runner-up gains the berth if the regular season champion (Morningside) wins the postseason).
