The 5-8 seeds all held true on Tuesday night in the first round of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women’s Basketball Tournament. Fifth seed Mount Marty defeated 12th seed Midland Lutheran 61-41, the Lancers will now play at #4 Concordia on Thursday at 7:30 PM in Seward, Nebraska. Eighth seed Dordt defeated 9th seed Briar Cliff 69-58 in Sioux Center, Iowa. The Lady Defenders will now play at top-seed Morningside in a 6:00 PM game on Thursday. Seventh seed Doane won at home against 10th seed Sioux Falls 62-52 and will now play at #2 Northwestern on Thursday at 6:00 PM. Sixth seed Dakota Wesleyan defeated #11 Dana 74-56 and will now travel to Hastings to play the 3rd seeded Broncos in a 7:30 PM in the quarterfinals on Thursday night.
 

The semifinals are on Saturday, March 1, at the highest two remaining seeds. GPAC Championship Tuesday, sponsored by Rawlings, will be on Tuesday, March 4. The GPAC Postseason Champion garners an automatic berth to the NAIA National Basketball Tournament (the runner-up gains the berth if the regular season champion (Morningside) wins the postseason).
