![]() Morningside's Jarzynka and Angerman The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following volleyball players-of-the-week for November 5 – November 11, 2007. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2007-2008 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Player- Amber Jarzyka, Morningside – Middle Blocker Morningside middle blocker Amber Jarzyka is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Player-of-the-Week. Jarzynka, a 5-11 middle blocker from Bennington, Nebraska, averaged five kills per game as the Mustangs claimed the GPAC Postseason Volleyball Championship. For the week she hit .303 and added four block assists. Morningside, now 33-2, will be the number three seed in this weekend’s NAIA Region III Volleyball Tournament in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Setter- Kali Angerman, Morningside
Morningside setter Kali Angerman is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Angerman 5-9 junior from Sioux City, Iowa, lofted 15.33 set assists per game in a pair of Mustangs victories. For the week she also fired seven ace serves and totaled 19 digs. Last week Angerman was the NAIA National Setter-of-the-Week. Libero – Jericho Johnson, Morningside Morningside libero Jericho Johnson is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Libero-of-the-Week. Johnson, a sophomore from Hastings, Nebraska, averaged 4.17 digs per game in a pair of 3-0 wins in the GPAC Tournament. She also completed 50-52 pass attempts and served 96% on the week. Morningside is now 33-2 and went 14-2 in the GPAC this fall.
