Dickinson State University will be the number one seed and National American University the number two seed when the 2007 NAIA Region III Volleyball Championships open on Friday, November 16, at Sioux Falls Christian High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota (69^th and Cliff).

The NAIA Region III Tournament will be a pool play format this year with two pools of three teams. The one (Dickinson State), four (Northwestern), and five (Dordt) seeds will be in one pool (Pool A) with the two (National American), three (Morningside), and six (Hastings) seeds in the other pool (Pool B). Six pool play matches (three per pool) will be played on Friday staring at 9AM in the morning. The winner of each pool will play in the NAIA Region III Championship Match on Saturday, November 17, at 7PM. A consolation match will not be played because NAIA Region III will not receive any at-large berths beyond the runner-up finisher. The second and third place teams in each pool will be eliminated from the tournament after Friday’s pool play or Saturday’s tiebreakers.

If there is a three-way tie in one pool after Friday’s play then two tie-breaker matches (one game to 30 for each match) will be played on Saturday morning. The first tie-breaker will be at 10AM and the second at 11AM. If both pools have a three-way tie then four tie-breaker games (one game to 30 for each match) will be played at 10AM, 10:45AM, 11:30AM, and 12:15PM on Saturday.

The winner is guaranteed an automatic berth in the NAIA National Volleyball Tournament November 28 – December 1 in Columbia, Missouri, at Columbia College.
