The Nebraska Wesleyan men won and the women placed second at the Central Region Championships Saturday in Northfield, Minn., to earn return trips to the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships to be held next Saturday on the same course hosted by St. Olaf College.
 
Both teams had two runners finish among the top 10 individuals. The men won with 88 points behind seniors Chris Dunker and Greg Timblin, who placed sixth and ninth in the 8K race, respectively. In the women’s 6K race, senior Amber Brandenburger took eighth, followed by senior Brittany Hubbard, who finished ninth.
 
NWU’s men will be making their 11th consecutive appearance at the national meet as a team, while the women have now qualified as a team in 10 of the last 12 years.
