![]() GPAC Cross Country Honors The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following runners-of-the-week in cross country for October 28 –November 4, 2007. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2007-2008 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week
WOMEN – Olivia Johnson and Charity Miles, Northwestern Northwestern’s Olivia Johnson and Charity Miles are this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week. The freshmen (Johnson from Milford, Iowa and Miles from Thedford, Nebraska) placed first and second in the NAIA Region III Championships in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Johnson’s time was 17:51.51 and Miles clocked a 17:53.24. The week before the duo placed one-two in the GPAC Cross Country Championships in Crete, Nebraska. The two have been instrumental in helping the Northwestern women’s cross country team qualify for the NAIA National Cross Country Championships for the first time since 1992. Dana’s Cory Logsdon is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Logsdon, a sophomore from Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, was the top GPAC men’s finisher in the NAIA Region III Championships held at the Prairie Green Golf Course in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He qualified as an at-large participant for the NAIA National Cross Country Championships. The NAIA National Cross Country Championships are on Saturday, November 17, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, at the Dr. Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course. The men’s race starts at 10:30 AM (Central) and the women’s race at 11:45 AM (Central). Concordia’s women won the NAIA Region III Championship, while the Black Hills State men won the team title.
