![]() 2007 GPAC Men's Champion Chris Dunker from NWU Nebraska Wesleyan swept team titles on Saturday at the 2007 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Cross Country Championships in Crete, Nebraska. In the women’s race the Prairie Wolves scored 45 points in winning the title and finished 32 points ahead of runner-up Concordia who scored 77 points. Northwestern placed third with 78 points in the 5K race. Individually the Red Raiders places one-two in the race with freshman Olivia Johnson and Charity Miles. Johnson earns the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Year honors with her time of 18:07.93. Miles clocked a time of 18:10.73. Two-time defending individual champion Brittany Hubbard from Nebraska Wesleyan placed sixth in the race. On the men’s side Nebraska Wesleyan scored 29 points in claiming their third conference title in a row. Concordia placed second with 49 points, while Hastings was third with 125. Nebraska Wesleyan senior Chris Dunker claimed the individual medalist honors with a time of 25:45.93. For his efforts he is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Year. Dunker’s teammate Greg Timblin places second with a clocking of 25:51.67. Doane’s Sufian Kimo was third with a time of 26:14.97. The NAIA Region III Cross Country Championships will be next Saturday in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the Prairie Green Golf Course. The NAIA National Cross Country Championships are Saturday, November 17, in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
