Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Player- Megan Meyer, Northwestern (Outside Hitter)
Northwestern outside hitter Megan Meyer is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Player-of-the-Week. Meyer, a 5-10 senior from Aplington, Iowa, averaged 5.0 kills per game while hitting .300 as the Red Raiders won three road matches. In a win at #12 Morningside she totaled 25 kills while connecting on 44 of 53 kill attempts. Northwestern is now 21-7 on the season.
Setter- Rachel Gosselink, Northwestern
Northwestern setter Rachel Gosselink is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Gosselink, a 6-1 sophomore from Urbandale, Iowa, lofted 14 assists per game in three Red Raider road wins. In a 3-1 win at #12 Morningside she totaled 54 assists and followed that with 64 assists in a five set win at Doane the next day. Gosselink also averaged 3.5 digs per game and served 95% with five aces. Northwestern is on a six match win streak and are 21-7 on the season.
Libero – Linsey Thomsen, Nebraska Wesleyan
Nebraska Wesleyan libero Linsey Thomsen is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Libero-of-the-Week. Thomsen, a 5-4 senior from Beatrice, Nebraska, averaged 7.17 digs per game as the Prairie Wolves went 2-1 on the week. For the week she also added five ace serves and completed 36-40 pass attempts. Her serve reception percentage was .900 and her serve percentage was .947. Nebraska Wesleyan is now 15-9 on the season.
