Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following runners-of-the-week in cross country for October 8 –October 14, 2007. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2007-2008 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
 
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week
WOMEN – Jen Kempers, Dordt
  Dordt’s Jen Kempers is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Kempers, a senior from Sioux Center, Iowa, placed first in the Mount Marty Invite with a time of 18:15.59. Kempers came from 40 feet behind Charity Miles from Northwestern with 400 meters to go and narrowly won the race by .01 seconds. Three nationally ranked teams took part in the meet (Concordia, Black Hills State, and Northwestern).
 
MEN – Sufian Kimo, Doane
 
Doane’s Sufian Kimo is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Kimo, a sophomore from Norfolk, Nebraska, placed 5th in the Mid-States Invite at Winfield, Kansas, with a time of 26:04.53. Doane, as a team, topped two teams receiving votes in the NAIA Poll. Kimo was the top finisher for the Tigers.
