Northwestern College totaled 144 points and 12 first place votes and is the preseason coaches’ selection to win the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) men’s basketball title. The Red Raiders, coached by Kris Korver, were the regular season co-champions last winter and posted a 26-9 record. Northwestern and Sioux Falls both went 14-4 during league play last winter in sharing the crown. The Red Raiders advanced to the semifinals of the NAIA Men’s Division II National Tournament.

The Cougars are picked second with 125 points and the one remaining first place vote. Morningside is tabbed third with 115 points.

Points were awarded on a 12-1 basis and coaches’ could not vote for their own team.
