Hastings College received nine first place votes and totaled 140 points and is the preseason coaches’ selection to win the 2007-2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) women’s basketball title. The Broncos won last year’s GPAC postseason championship and were one of four regular season quad-champions (with Morningside, Mount Marty, and Northwestern). All four teams went 14-4 during last season’s regular season conference race. The Broncos, coached by Tony Hobson, posted a 28-7 record last winter and advanced into the quarterfinal round of the NAIA Women’s Division II National Tournament.  
 
Northwestern is picked second, after a 24-9 season last winter, and accumulated 130 points and three first place votes. The final first place vote went to Morningside who was picked third with 129 points.
Points were awarded on a 12-1 basis and coaches’ could not vote for their own team.
