The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following men’s soccer players-of-the-week for September 10 September 16, 2007. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2007-2008 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.  
 
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men’s Soccer Players-of-the-Week
Men’s Offense- Cole McCallum, Nebraska Wesleyan - Forward
  Nebraska Wesleyan forward Cole McCallum is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. McCallum, a 6-0 sophomore from Norfolk, Nebraska, scores two game winning goals on the week as the Prairie Wolves won at Northwestern (1-0 in 2OT) and Dakota Wesleyan (2-1). His game winner against Northwestern came with under 30 seconds remaining in the second overtime period. Three of McCallum’s team-leading five goals have been game winners this season. Nebraska Wesleyan is 5-1.

Men’s Defense – Josh Miller, Nebraska Wesleyan and Brian Schekirke, Morningside - Keepers
  Nebraska Wesleyan and Morningside keepers Josh Miller and Brian Schekirke are the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Soccer Defensive Players-of-the-Week.
Miller, a 6-3 sophomore from Rapid City, South Dakota, won two GPAC matches in net on the road as the Prairie Wolves won at Northwestern (1-0 in 2OT) and Dakota Wesleyan (2-1). He has played every minute in goal this year for Nebraska Wesleyan and has a goals against average of 0.80. The Prairie Wolves are 3-0 in overtime this year and 5-1 overall.
Schekirke, a 6-1 senior from Bellevue, Nebraska, was the winner in net as Morningside upset NAIA number one ranked William Jewell on Saturday 2-1 in Sioux City, Iowa. He posted eight saves as the Mustangs won the game despite being out shot 16-6. Morningside is 2-2-2 on the season.
