Nebraska Wesleyan's Linsey Thomsen The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following volleyball players-of-the-week for August 27-September 2, 2007. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2007-2008 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Co-Player- Katie Werner, Concordia (MB) and Abby Bade, Nebraska Wesleyan (OH) Concordia’s Katie Werner and Nebraska Wesleyan’s Abby Bade are the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Co-Volleyball Players-of-the-Week. Werner, a 6-2 senior middle blocker from Syracuse, Nebraska, averaged 4.2 kills per game and hit .298 as the Bulldogs went 4-1 on the week. In a four-set win over number nine Hastings she posted 16 kills as the Bulldogs snapped Hastings’ 25 match regular season conference win streak. Over the weekend she was named Co-MVP at the Concordia-Portland Invite. Bade, a 5-7 senior outside hitter from Lincoln, Nebraska, averaged 5.5 kills per game while earning All-Tournament honors at the Elmhurst Invite. Her kill percentage for the week was .305. For the week she also totaled 46 digs and eight solo blocks as NWU went 3-1 to open the season. Setter- Kali Angerman, Morningside
Morningside setter Kali Angerman is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Angerman, a 5-9 junior from Sioux City, Iowa, lofted 13.29 assists per game as the Mustangs went 5-0. For the week she also totaled 44 digs and 16 ace serves. Morningside went 4-0 at the Embry Riddle Classic and won their conference opener at Sioux Falls. The Mustangs 9-0 start is the best in school history.
Libero- Linsey Thomsen, Nebraska Wesleyan
Nebraska Wesleyan libero Linsey Thomsen is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Libero-of-the-Week. Thomsen, a 5-4 senior from Beatrice, Nebraska, averaged 9.07 digs per game as NWU went 3-1 on the week. The 2006 Co-GPAC Libero-of-the-Year also completed 91-101 passes on the week and totaled eight ace serves. |
