The Morningside women, after posting a 15-5-1 season in 2006, has been selected by the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) women’s soccer coaches’ as the favorite for the 2007 GPAC women’s soccer season.

The Mustang women, who last year became the first team to advance to the NAIA National Soccer Tournament in the history of the league, totaled 134 points and six first place votes in the poll. Midland Lutheran garnered 128 points and four first place votes and were picked second in the conference. Defending GPAC Champion Nebraska Wesleyan totaled 113 points and snagged the final three first place votes.

The 2007 schedule will consist of 12 league games as once again all 13 teams will compete for the conference crown.
