Honors for the 2007 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Outdoor Men’s Track and Field Season have been announced.

Hastings’ Scott Van Cura has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete-of-the-Year. VanCura scored 26 points in the GPAC Championships for the Broncos.
 
Hastings’ Brandon Diamond has been awarded the Men’s Top Performance-of-the-Meet. Diamond earned the honor after his amazing anchor leg in the 4x400 meter relay. His leg led the Broncos to a photo finish win over Doane. The Broncos time was 3:12.62, while Doane’s time was 3:12.64.

Kendrick Clay, head coach from Hastings College, was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men’s Track and Field Coach-of-the-Year.

Nebraska Wesleyan’s men won the team championship for the 19th straight year scoring 213.5 points. The Prairie Wolves narrowly edges Doane who scored 212 points in the meet. Hastings was third with 130.5 points.

The GPAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships were held in Seward, Nebraska, at Bulldog Stadium on the campus of Concordia University.
