![]() NAIA Region III Baseball Complete Northwestern College has claimed the 2007 NAIA Region III Baseball Championship. The tournament was played in Sioux City, Iowa at Lewis and Clark Park and was hosted by the Great Plains Athletic Conference. On the fourth and final day top seed Dickinson State eliminated three seed Jamestown 2-0 in the 1:00 PM loser out contest (Game 10), the win moved the Blue Hawks into the Championship Game (Game 11) against sixth seed Northwestern. The Red Raiders, behind undefeated pitcher Mihai Burlea (now 12-0 on the season), won the title tilt 5-2. Northwestern, 37-16, advances to the Plains Super Regional next Thursday and Friday. The Red Raiders, as champions of NAIA Region III, will square off with Bellevue University. The Bruins were the champions of NAIA Region IV. The best of three series will be played May 17 and 18 at Bellevue University (home field in Omaha). Game times are TBA. The Plains Super Regional Champion moves on to the NAIA College Baseball World Series in Lewiston, Idaho. The NAIA CWS will be played May 25 – June 1.
