The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following women’s outdoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for April 23 – April 29, 2007. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2006-2007 GPAC players-of-the-week and players and coaches-of-the-year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week
Field Events – Tawny Fye, Doane

Doane’s Tawny Fie is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Field Athlete-of-the-Week. Fye, a junior from Stranton, Colorado, posted the 3rd best GPAC marks in the discuss and hammer throw this week. In the discuss she measured 145-11 and in the hammer 154-01. Both marks automatically qualify her for NAIA Nationals.

Track Events – Erin Fogarty, Doane
Doane’s Erin Fogarty is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Track Athlete-of-the-Week. Forgarty, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, had an outstanding week for the Tigers as she picked up one first place and two second place finishes (one relay). She placed first in the 100 meter hurdles at the UNK Twilight with a time of 14.85. That is the 3rd fastest GPAC time and 13th in the NAIA and automatically qualifies her for the NAIA National Meet. She placed second in the 400 hurdles (1:03.45) and that time is best in the GPAC this year. She was also on a second place Doane 4x400 team that holds the best time in the GPAC as well.
